Smoked Out Shiner
“Hope”
SOLD
Hope is a 7 year old buckskin mare. She has buckskin papers, but sells grade as we do not have her Aqha papers in hand. She is currently being hauled/exhibitioned and has shown us that she has all the right moves to make a 1D/2D jackpot or rodeo horse! She rides out great on trails and has a very nice handle in the arena. She has no vices/quirks and does not require any maintenance. Hope would make a great step up horse or is the perfect high end prospect for someone on a budget!
Dabney
“Salsa”
$8500
2019 TB Mare (AQHA approved)
Skylord x C O Barqueen (Thunder Gulch)
Salsa ran out over 50k on the track before retiring and is currently in foal to Jobu for a May 2025 baby. She is by 3 million dollar sire, Skylord, and has great papers! Jobu needs no introduction and is a multiple PRCA rodeo winner. He is by 4 million dollar sire Shiners Voodoo Dr and by Wimpy Little Sinbar that has produced 150k and counting! If you’re looking for a baby that has proven parents, grandparents, and great grandparents, look no further! She retired due to a small fracture in her knee that has since healed. I do have x-rays from her last check up. She can handle moderate work however I can’t guarantee that she will hold up in a performance environment so selling her as broodmare sound. I haven’t injected her knee and my vet said that would be the next step if I wanted her to be a performance horse again. Salsa is EXTREMELY sweet and LOVES people! She is an absolute puppy dog and will be your BFF. She is currently maintained on just grass hay and is barefoot. She gets along with anyone and everyone and has no vices. This is a SUPER nice mare and I would be letting her go other than I need to get something moved to pay vet bills. Salsa stands 15.2 and sire is 15.1 so this will be a THICK and good sized baby. This is the ultimate cow/run cross!
Meet our trainer
Jentry Vandenberg grew up showing the all around and reining horses. She rode anything and everything she could get her hands on and had the opportunity to ride with many of the best trainers in the country. She has an AQHA Reserve World Champion title to her name as well as numerous top five and ten World Show finishes. She is a multiple reserve Congress champion as well and has too many national and local titles to list! Jentry was offered a scholarship to ride at Auburn University on both their horsemanship and reining teams. Auburn is one of the top equestrian programs in the country and boats numerous national championship titles! Jentry, however, decided to turn down the opportunity in order to follow her passion of training. Higher Ground Ranch, previously Altitude Equine, was started in 2021. Jentry originally started training the all around and reining horses as well as colt starting. After successfully coaching clients to wins at national and local levels, she transitioned to barrel horses after realizing how much the reining horses enjoyed it! Since making the move to barrel horses, Jentry has multiple PRCA rodeo placings, a PRCA Rodeo win, numerous race wins, 1D super show placings, and has developed a reputation for producing excellent individuals! Jentry has also gained a reputation for fixing problem horses, restarting off the track horses, and developing colts. Jentry also spent time in law enforcement serving as a sheriff’s deputy but has found her true passion with the horses. She also strives to help develop non pros and make coaching easily accessible. Jentry is happily married to her husband, Michael, and has a son, CJ, who has already shown how much he loves the horses!
